The debate will provide an opportunity to reflect on the essential connection between democratic governance and the protection of fundamental rights, as well as to consider whether democracy can truly function without respect for human rights — and whether human rights can be effectively protected without democratic institutions.

We warmly invite students, academics, practitioners, and everyone interested in human rights, democracy, and contemporary European affairs to join us for this important discussion.
